Friends of the Autism Center
Launched in 2002, The Autism Center works with elected official and partners to create laws and regulations to ensure that children and young adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) have access to the services and resources they need in order to reach their full potential.
The Friends of the Autism Center provide critical financial support needed to sustain The Autism Center's advocacy. Friends give a total of $250 or more per household each year and represent a powerful network of Massachusetts individuals who care about creating opportunities for children and young adults with autism. To become a Friend, make your donation below and select "I would like to make this a recurring donation" to ensure your membership does not expire!
MAC's advocacy at the State House has led to major victories for children's educational rights - including the first special education and bilingual education laws in the country. Your gift supports our efforts to establish and protect legal rights for children receiving special education services, children who are English language learners, and others.
Through free webinars and community workshops, MAC trains over 3,000 parents, youth, and professionals each year in special education, autism, school discipline laws and rights, the impact of trauma on learning, and the creation of safe and supportive schools. Your gift allows us to inform parents and self-advocates of their rights and make safer school environments for everyone.
MAC's team of Helpline staff and volunteers answer over 1,000 calls a year from parents of children facing barriers to their education. Your gift gives hope to parents seeking support, legal advice, and information on how to advocate for their children.
